our 2009 year

2009 is over... where did the time go. This has been a great yr. Last January I was still recovering from knee surgery. Therapy lasted till March. Thankfully I now have full range of motion and only have pain when the weather is bad. In March I was blessed with a new boss at work and the last 9 months have been spent learning exactly what he wants and expects. He is a great boss to work with! I am still teaching High School (girls) Sunday School at Northland. I love to see the girls grow in their relationship with our Savior! I have to say the hardest thing that I have faced this year is being a students wife. It is hard to balance everything. I am sure we will learn how to balance everything just in time for it to change

Travis is over half way finished with his degree!!! We should be finished in 2 1/2 more years!! I am sure he would say this has been the hardest year of school... he took ALGEBRA this last semester. As he would say "what does math have to do with youth ministry?" He has had a busy year. In April he started an internship with the church. He loved it and built great relationships with each youth and the youth pastor. He was blessed to be able to join the youth on a mission trip to Mexico in July. He loved it!! I am sure there will be many more mission trip in our future. As we finish up 2009 he is preparing for his J-term class. He will be taking Children's ministry as a week long class in January! Neither of us are looking forward to the time and energy this class will take. J-term classes are not fun - you are in class for 8 hrs a day for 5 days and have lots of work to do - pre and post work! Please pray for him to make it through this class.

Hayden is now in the 2nd grade and loving school. Spring brought baseball for Hayden. We were blessed with finding a great team... the coaches are from our church. Hayden loved it. He seemed to play third base or left field. Once spring Baseball was over he enjoyed the summer break... playing with friends and skateboarding. July brought a trip to Nana and Papa's with mom and Tucker - we had a blast being there for a whole week. Going to the pool and to the movies with Nana and Papa! Fall brought baseball again... this time Hayden got to play catcher some --this became his favorite spot. The most favorite thing Hayden got to do this year is on Dec. 4 he got to go on his FIRST hunting trip with PAPA.... No dear but lots of memories!!!

Tucker is getting so big and turned 6 in November. Last spring he was finishing pre school and is now a big boy and is in KINDERGARTEN!! He loves school and the girls love him! He enjoyed his summer playing outside and riding his bike. He loved his trip to NANA and PAPA's this summer his favorite thing about the trip was learning how to swim and going to the movies for the first time ever! We went to Humboldt pool almost everyday and of course he had a great tan going on! This fall he lost his first two teeth and is looking forward to loosing more! He is looking forward to playing baseball this coming spring.

As we wrap up 2009 we are hoping for a great 2010! We are hoping to save enough money and go on a family vacation this coming summer. We have NEVER been on one and are really looking forward to it. We are praying for each relationship we build this coming year. We pray that we will be a Godly example in all we do! Thank you Lord for a great year!!

SNOW SNOW SNOW!!!

Winter is here and there is tons of snow! Last week we go 11.9 inches and blizzard like conditions. Snow is everywhere! The wind caused huge drifts! We headed home on Saturday to Chanute to celebrate Christmas with the family! Driving was CRAZY! The kids had a snow ball fight at Nana and Papa's with all their cousins and aunts and uncles.

Today we woke up to 3 more inches! I am now SICK of the snow. I want to be able to go somewhere with out having to shovel the drive --- or I mean Travis is doing all the shoveling. I am sick of the slick sidewalks and parking lots. One year and 5 days ago I had knee surgery due to a fall on the ice..... so needless to say I have a little fear when walking on this stuff. At least I do not have to go anywhere THANK YOU LORD for VACATION!!! Home from the office till January 4th!!!!

Hope you all are enjoying the snow.

NEW TO THIS

Ok, so this is new to me! I have wanted to create a blog for a long time! Something for my family and friends to follow but also something for us too! I want to be able to look back at this blog in the years to come and see how God provided for us during this season of our lives! With Travis in school full time and myself juggling a full time job and a household of boys!! What a blessing it has been for us to be called to Midwestern! We are blessed with a great church and many friends and best of all we are only a few hours from most of our family!
