FRIENDSHIP

The Lord has blessed us with many great friends!! I am thankful for this season of our life!! It will be a sad day when we have to leave this campus and or KC.  But I love the friendships that all four of us has been blessed with.   Tucker has a best friend that he can go days with out playing with, but he prays for him every night.  I am thankful we only live 3 hours from family... I am thankful I can feel the Lord next to me when I worry about where we will be and how far we will live from my family!! What a blessing to know the Lord will always be with us even if he calls us across the united states!! I am not saying that will be easy...it will be the hardest day of my life if we have to move far far away!!!!
Seminary/College is not always fun ~ schedules over flowing, time with your spouse...what is that, late night studying, waking up early in the morning, kids that do not mind, no money, weird work schedules. But to have friends that we can fellowship with, laugh with, cry with, or Pray with is a great feeling!! Thank you Lord for the friendships you have blessed us with...the ones that are hours away, the ones that are across the street, the ones from church, the ones in a different country, the ones that are old, the ones that are young, the ones who are praying for us and we do not even realize it!!!

Baseball season is here!!

Well the semester is almost over ~ Praise the LORD!! Travis is taking English Comp II this semester and hates it.  He loves all his Bible classes or Christian Ed class but struggles in the general ed classes. After this May he will only need 41 more hours.  He is taking 5 credit hours this coming summer ~ The Gospels, and a volunteer class! Hopefully he will get everything wrapped up the month of June and be able to enjoy the month of July and August.  He should finish in the December 2011, but we have prayed and realized he will take it slow the next 3 semester an finish in May 2012 so that way we do not have to move in the middle of the school yr for the boys.  That is if we are called away from KC.

Hayden is playing pitching machine baseball.  He really likes it.  I am thankful for the time Travis is given to help coach.  He is finishing 2nd grade and reading on a 7th grade reading level!!! He has a wonderful teacher who has pushed him to strive to do the best he can.   He tried out for the spelling bee but did not make it.  He was really upset about it.  He was proud of his classmate that came in 2nd place today!!

Tucker is loving school and has the girls falling all over him.  He has a wonderful teacher ~ they both seem to have the same personality! We are amazed at the things Tucker has learned.  He is becoming more independent everyday...even made himself a sandwich today!! He will start T-Ball in May!! He is very excited.  He will be in a wedding this summer and felt blessed when his cousin Mike asked him to be in it.  So hard to believe he will be 7 this fall.

Work is ever so busy!! I really do love the job the Lord has blessed me with.  I am ready for summer....we get to move to a 3 bedroom apt.  on campus!!! I am so excited the boys will have their own room!! We are going to Branson for vacation! The boys are excited, but so am I.  Travis and I will be married for 10 yrs in June! Wow were did the time go!!!

life...future

Well Travis is getting ready to start his 4 yr at Midwestern.  I am excited and happy for all he is learning!  I remember when we first moved here I thought it would be leaving in 4 yrs.  Thought he would have his degree in 4 years.  Well I am sure we have two more years to go.  Which I have to say I am proud of him only taking 5 years to get his Bachelors degree in Christian Education.  But as we have been here for three years and we can see the end...I can not help but wonder where we will be in the future.  That is very hard for me!! I have to learn to be patient and wait for God to show us instead of wanting it all spelled out for me!!

our 2009 year

2009 is over... where did the time go. This has been a great yr. Last January I was still recovering from knee surgery. Therapy lasted till March. Thankfully I now have full range of motion and only have pain when the weather is bad. In March I was blessed with a new boss at work and the last 9 months have been spent learning exactly what he wants and expects. He is a great boss to work with! I am still teaching High School (girls) Sunday School at Northland. I love to see the girls grow in their relationship with our Savior! I have to say the hardest thing that I have faced this year is being a students wife. It is hard to balance everything. I am sure we will learn how to balance everything just in time for it to change

Travis is over half way finished with his degree!!! We should be finished in 2 1/2 more years!! I am sure he would say this has been the hardest year of school... he took ALGEBRA this last semester. As he would say "what does math have to do with youth ministry?" He has had a busy year. In April he started an internship with the church. He loved it and built great relationships with each youth and the youth pastor. He was blessed to be able to join the youth on a mission trip to Mexico in July. He loved it!! I am sure there will be many more mission trip in our future. As we finish up 2009 he is preparing for his J-term class. He will be taking Children's ministry as a week long class in January! Neither of us are looking forward to the time and energy this class will take. J-term classes are not fun - you are in class for 8 hrs a day for 5 days and have lots of work to do - pre and post work! Please pray for him to make it through this class.

Hayden is now in the 2nd grade and loving school. Spring brought baseball for Hayden. We were blessed with finding a great team... the coaches are from our church. Hayden loved it. He seemed to play third base or left field. Once spring Baseball was over he enjoyed the summer break... playing with friends and skateboarding. July brought a trip to Nana and Papa's with mom and Tucker - we had a blast being there for a whole week. Going to the pool and to the movies with Nana and Papa! Fall brought baseball again... this time Hayden got to play catcher some --this became his favorite spot. The most favorite thing Hayden got to do this year is on Dec. 4 he got to go on his FIRST hunting trip with PAPA.... No dear but lots of memories!!!

Tucker is getting so big and turned 6 in November. Last spring he was finishing pre school and is now a big boy and is in KINDERGARTEN!! He loves school and the girls love him! He enjoyed his summer playing outside and riding his bike. He loved his trip to NANA and PAPA's this summer his favorite thing about the trip was learning how to swim and going to the movies for the first time ever! We went to Humboldt pool almost everyday and of course he had a great tan going on! This fall he lost his first two teeth and is looking forward to loosing more! He is looking forward to playing baseball this coming spring.

As we wrap up 2009 we are hoping for a great 2010! We are hoping to save enough money and go on a family vacation this coming summer. We have NEVER been on one and are really looking forward to it. We are praying for each relationship we build this coming year. We pray that we will be a Godly example in all we do! Thank you Lord for a great year!!

SNOW SNOW SNOW!!!

Winter is here and there is tons of snow! Last week we go 11.9 inches and blizzard like conditions. Snow is everywhere! The wind caused huge drifts! We headed home on Saturday to Chanute to celebrate Christmas with the family! Driving was CRAZY! The kids had a snow ball fight at Nana and Papa's with all their cousins and aunts and uncles.

Today we woke up to 3 more inches! I am now SICK of the snow. I want to be able to go somewhere with out having to shovel the drive --- or I mean Travis is doing all the shoveling. I am sick of the slick sidewalks and parking lots. One year and 5 days ago I had knee surgery due to a fall on the ice..... so needless to say I have a little fear when walking on this stuff. At least I do not have to go anywhere THANK YOU LORD for VACATION!!! Home from the office till January 4th!!!!

Hope you all are enjoying the snow.

NEW TO THIS

Ok, so this is new to me! I have wanted to create a blog for a long time! Something for my family and friends to follow but also something for us too! I want to be able to look back at this blog in the years to come and see how God provided for us during this season of our lives! With Travis in school full time and myself juggling a full time job and a household of boys!! What a blessing it has been for us to be called to Midwestern! We are blessed with a great church and many friends and best of all we are only a few hours from most of our family!
